As a tribute to the late Michael Jackson, EA and DICE have released two free Jackson related outfits for Battlefield Heroes today. Here's the report from IGN:

Michael Jackson's death continues to resonate throughout the world. While some game developers are declining to offer up some sort of tribute to the King of Pop, others are taking the initiative.

Battlefield Heroes, Electronic Arts' experimental browser-based shooter, is now allowing players to select from a pair of Michael Jackson-themed costumes. (seen below)

Earlier reports suggested the company was charging for players to download them, but that has since been denied. A spokesperson from EA confirmed to IGN saying "Battlefield Heroes is not charging for the Michael Jackson tribute outfits."

Great month MIA! All our servers are doing great. Members continue to come up with new ideas to improve the community. We have started up the Combat Arms Training, which is lead up by Gunny. At the present time we‘re not pushing recruitment do to a long term plan. The first stage of the NEW MIA Corp is to purchase and anchor a POS. This will take us several months to build our standing and locate a new home for the Corp. If you have any questions please contact Iceman.

 COD 4/5 Division News

Greeting’s from CoD Division, Things are happening and the summer is kicking off. We have seen recruits coming in and a new life being brought too our CoD4 side of things with the opening of our HC_FRAGGED server. Our server invasions on Friday’s have been successful. We continue to make new friends along the way and maybe a few foe's lol. On the W@W side we have seen a new life awakening as well. We are also awaiting the release of MAP PACK 2 which contains 3 new multiplayer maps and a new zombie co-op but this time they are bringing HELL HOUNDS lol the sneek-a-peek on this looks like the maps may be staying medium to small and no tank maps lol

Battlefield 2 Division News

Well it has been a great moth again, the server has been getting real popular at least 6-10 people in it a day we have dropped in ranks real fast and it is proven we will have the best special forces server out there. This month we will be hosting a “schools out blow out” for the YGZ and some of the prizes will be several copies of bf2 so look for more of our younger generation to take control of bf2. We would like to thank all of you who have participated in helping start the servers and keeping them going. Thanks again and let’s have another good month.

This month, we have started something very exciting. We have all
spent a lot of time and effort to get and keep new recruits and make them members.

We have developed game and age specific welcome letters for approved applicants. These
letters will be sent by PM. We are finding that the Email approval letters are not
getting through. They either are being stopped by SPAM filters or we were not given the proper
Email address in the first place.

Once UT,DM or DG approves an app. and they get moved to approved. Then we get called to action. The recruit dept.
ColdDayinHell, sends out the Welcome Letter specific to the type of game they play. Also if they
are young gun or not. In addition we can put in if there are specific events like
the Fireworks Frenzy on the Cod4 server. As you all know, this is a difficult job and ColdDay
makes it look she is spamming the forum but folks. This is necessary so please, next time you see
ColdDay, say thank you. She is Doing a great job.

We know that if they check the site, they will hear the YOU GO MAIL MAGGOT. We know then, they have been notified.
We have updated the MIA acceptance letter to include the X-fire links as well as the TS links.
We have also instituted a survey of the new recruits. Tinga has made up an survey that will be given
When a new recruit has attended a new recruit meeting. They
will be asked to complete a survey of the recruit dept. This is totally voluntary and anonymous. This will
give the recruit dept. a better idea of how to improve what we do and to help keep people in the door. Anonymous
results will posted in the recruit discussion forum. Tinga has done a test of the survey and gave it out after our last initiation. we already received some valuable information and have made changes in our initiation process. Thank you Tinga. Keep those great ideas coming

We have 48 working to become full members. We also will give them time to complete this process.
If they are active in TS we will give them some time, if no activity, we will send them a reminder PM., then move them if no response after Two weeks.
Over 25 of our new recruit applications came from the advertising department in the months of May and June.
So we applaud them for their effort.

I would like to say that we will miss Pvt. Fodder in the recruit dept. We are very lucky that he
helped us and joined in participating in the last initiation. We miss you buddy but are glad
to have you back doing graphics work. He will always be welcome to return to his post here
whenever he wants to. We all miss you and we only wish Pvt. Fodder and Pvt. Wookie the best life has to offer.

Although we may have lost Pvt. Fodder, we have gained a new member in the recruit dept.
Vamnz, he is currently learning the ropes but is a quick study and doing an excellent job. We also have
RayKazi who is helping out with the initiations. I just hope that his long term goals in life include MIA.

Col Blue Samurai helped out the recruit department in the Month of May and June. Due to vacations and absences,  we were temporarily short and his expertise was needed and very much appreciated. Thank you very much Blue.

On a personal note, I want to thank each and every member. This clan is a community. When a recruit has a question we can not answer, you are there to help. I am grateful to you all. I also want to thank the Security department. I am glad that we came up with a way to designate when a security check is done. I hope this helps us both and eases pain of doing business. We all need each other. Let’s keep it going, we are the best clan on the net for a reason. It is the people.

As I said before, The new recruits are the life blood of MIA, It is our job to keep it pumping.

Advertising Department

For the Advertisement department, we are building to bring in a bunch of recruits for the summer. With over 75 websites around the internet that are constantly being updated, we have successfully had over 30+ accepted applications since the project has started. Thanks to the help of SsgtDen0, EUSoldierOne and Greatonefreak.

Here is the ClanOPedia Project update for the month of June We are over 9,000 hits. From April to end of may we were at 4,500 hits, so great job with almost 4,500 hits in one month. April to end of May, we had 17 clans and support sites. For the mo. of June, we got over 25 clans and support sites. Great job goes out to Alex2142hp and with the addition of Gusto415.

I'm projecting a great summer and big climb in numbers for the site. We will be re-creating the ClanOPedia Project converting to version 3.0, with new forums and hopefully a great new look to help with the great summer [MIA] will be having. Young Gunz division update for June/July
The YGZ are having/ had a fun night of Killin' and chillin'.
The "Schools out blow out".
The Young Gunz division has been growing recently and becoming a strong fighting force. The YGZ had a great time in the recent –CCCP- clan match and the death match contest.
We are also working on the YGZ video to update it.
The schools out blow out was a lot of fun although only a few showed up but the rest of the clan pulled together to make the YGZ night out really fun.

Prizes for it should sent out with in the week.

DICE has announced that a fourth map for Battlefield 1943, Coral Sea, will be made available as part of a worldwide community challenge after the game's release.

In Battlefield 1942, Coral Sea was an ocean map with just a couple of small islands. Each team had a carrier and unlimited aircraft - there were no control points, your only objective was to sink the enemy carrier. It'll be interesting to see how this plays out in BF1943. Check it out:

DICE, today announced that Battlefield 1943 will kick off a worldwide community challenge that, when achieved, will reward players by unlocking a fourth map called Coral Sea. The WWII Coral Sea map will be unlocked when the multiplayer community achieves 43M kills on Xbox Live and the same number on PlayStation®Network. When it ships this summer, Battlefield 1943 will include three maps (Iwo Jima, Guadalcanal, and Wake Island) plus this fourth bonus map, all for $15.

Coral Sea is designed to showcase the intense battle in the skies, offering an all-new Air superiority game mode. The legendary WWII action this map provides will have players dog fighting in this airplanes-only map, proving once again DICE delivers on a first class online vehicle warfare experience better than anyone else! Players will be able to track the progress of their respective console communities at www.battlefield.com/1943.

Battlefield 1943 is a premium arcade title that delivers endless hours of 24-player First-Person Shooter (FPS) action on popular maps inspired by Battlefield 1942™. In addition to Coral Sea, Battlefield 1943 will also have players battling over three tropic locations: Wake Island, Guadalcanal and Iwo Jima. These maps have now been updated with the DICE Frostbite™ engine, providing destructibility to the battlefield and leaving players with almost nowhere to hide. Looks like EA has released a few new trailers on the new upcoming Battlefield 1943 games. Check out this trailer. It is an overview of the Wake Island map.

After a lengthy wait, the PC community can finally rejoice! Treyarch and Activision in partnering with Intel bring us the latest patch and DLC for Call of Duty: World at War. Check it out:
 

Through a partnership with Intel, we are pleased to announce that the Call of Duty: World at War Map Pack 1 is now available on the PC platform, completely free of charge!

Nightfire, Station, Knee Deep, and Verrückt are the 3 Multiplayer maps and Nazi Zombie level (respectively) that are included in this Map Pack. For more information about the DLC, click here.

The important thing to note is that PC Patch 1.4 is the actual package that includes Map Pack 1. Patch 1.4 will update installations of Patch 1.2 or greater.

• 3 new Multiplayer maps: Kneedeep, Nightfire, Station!
• Nazi Zombies map with more weapons, Perks-a-Cola machines, and electroshock defenses: Verrückt!
• Improved spawning logic.
• Auto balancing improvements. Players are no longer auto balanced while completing objectives.
• Mods: IWD's can be placed in the usermaps folder.
• Mods: Hold Breath / Sprint functions as intended.
• Mods: MissingAssets.csv is generated when maps are run with developer set to 1.
• Fixed lag caused by shooting at tanks.
• All rifle grenades fired during the first 15 seconds of Search & Destroy will be duds.
• Players who equip a Bouncing Betty and melee teammates in Hardcore game modes are now credited with a team kill penalty.
• Players are now deducted 200 points for team killing the bomb planter/defuser in Hardcore Search & Destroy.
• Martyrdom no longer causes direct impact deaths in Hardcore modes.
• "Bayonet jumping" has been disabled.

Grab this latest patch and get to playing the new maps! Post any feedback you may have.

So far, at least four different sites have managed to grab some hands-on time with the upcoming Battlefield 1943. Eurogamer has a nice two page spread that outlines the key changes made to the game since 1942.

Never mind Bad Company - welcome to Dimwit Company. Nobody's talking to one another - hardly surprising, since the guys to either side of me are Italian, French and Spanish - and once the landing craft hit the beach, we've all regressed by about seven years. Italy's landed a biplane upside down on an anti-aircraft gun, and I'm stuck fast in a trench. In a tank.

Battlefield 1943 may be simplified - three maps, three classes, one objective - but the key word is accessibility, not casual. There's a tutorial this time - the first in the series, rather unbelievably - that introduces you to the concepts offline and then lets you practice in planes and tanks unmolested by hostiles. There are facilities for private matches, clans and squads, and there are levelling and reward systems (Achievements/Trophies and a broader range of honours beyond that, although no unlocks), but for the majority of people approaching the game from scratch, it's a one-click process to start playing, and it's not difficult to understand what's going on. You pick an infantryman, rifleman or scout class and then choose where to spawn. But it's still Battlefield, and it still punishes you for pratting around.

The guys over at NoobTube recently had the opportunity to interview Gordon Van Dyke about many aspects of Battlefield 1943.
